We are excited to announce our first photo contest to celebrate the beauty and history of Clermont State Historic Site. Visitors and photographers alike are invited to capture unique and inspiring moments at Clermont, highlighting its landscape, architecture, and abundant wildlife and nature.
Participants may submit one photo per category:
Landscape: Showcasing the beauty of the surrounding grounds, gardens, and scenic views.
Architecture: Focusing on the historic buildings, structures, and their intricate details.
Wildlife & Nature: Capturing the natural wildlife, flora, and fauna in and around the site.
Photos must be submitted in high-resolution JPEG format (at least 300dpi). Each submission must include a brief description of the photo (i.e. location, subject, and the story behind it). The contest is open to all ages and abilities. Only photos taken at Clermont will be eligible.
Entries must be submitted through the official Friends of Clermont Photo Contest form.
The contest will run from May 1 to July 20. Winners will be announced in early August. Submissions will be judged by the following criteria:
Creativity: Originality and creativity in the subject matter and composition.
Technical quality: Sharpness, exposure, composition, and use of light.
Impact: Emotional or visual impact, including how well the photo captures the site's beauty and natural significance.
Winners will receive two tickets to our Tea at Clermont Gardens fundraiser (held on Saturday, August 23) and a Friends of Clermont Dual/Family membership. Winning photos will be framed and included in our benefit auction in August. Special recognition will be given to the top photo in each category. Winning photos will also be featured on our website and social media.
Participants retain the copyright of their images but grant the Friends of Clermont the right to use their images for promotional purposes (with credit to the photographer). Friends of Clermont is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted photos. By submitting, participants agree to these terms and conditions.
