2023 has been a transitional year for the Friends of Clermont. The unwavering commitment of our board of trustees, office manager, garden educator, volunteers, and donors like you kept us going with our scheduled events and programs:
Morning Tea at Clermont Gardens fundraiser
Harmonies on the Hudson concert series
Bird Walks
Guided Forest Bathing
Harvesting History program
Continued collaboration with state-run programs and events
The Friends of Clermont also continued its financial investment with:
$25,000+ to support Harvesting History
$45,000+ to continue the restoration and maintenance of the walled, wilderness, and cutting gardens
$5,000+ to provide free or low-cost programs to the community
Sponsorship of the memorable lecture, Conversation about Slavery in the Hudson Valley: Two Linked Descendants Share Their Story
We look to 2024 with optimism and opportunity for growth and success. The state has completed the Master Plan for the site, and the Friends of Clermont will begin crafting our new Strategic Plan for the future.
Here is a sample of what is ahead in 2024:
Invest in staff to help us enhance, diversify, and expand our programs
Strengthen community partnerships
Engage with our members and donors at curated events
Expand and enhance member benefits
Reopen the gift shop
Increase the visibility of the Friends of Clermont and Clermont State Historic Site
As we reflect on 2023 and look to all the exciting things to come in 2024, we turn to you and your enduring commitment to help us write this next chapter. Please consider a tax-deductible year-end gift in any amount. Your charitable support is the reason for our growth and success. We thank you for being on this journey with us.
With gratitude,
Randy J. Tryon
President, Friends of Clermont
