Germantown, NY- Through the end of December, we are partnering with Clermont State Historic Site and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to host a food drive this holiday season. All donations will benefit the Germantown Community Cupboard at 20 Church Ave.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off in the designated collection bin Clermont State Historic Site's Visitor Center (1 Clermont Avenue, Germantown) during normal business hours (Thursday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The food drive is running from Thursday, October 29 through Thursday, December 31.
Most needed non-perishable food items include peanut butter and jelly; canned meals and soups; canned protein (tuna, chicken, beans); canned fruit and vegetables; cereal & oatmeal; granola bars; pasta, rice, macaroni and cheese; and 100% juice. Culturally responsive food such as beans and legumes (kidney or black beans, black eyed peas, chickpeas, lentils); spices (Adobo, Miso, Cayenne, Cumin, Curry, Sazon); grains and flour (barley, millet, sporghum, masa, rice flour); and dried fruit (apricots, dates, raisins, figs) are also appreciated. Toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner; deodorant; toothbrushes and toothpaste; bathroom tissue; paper towels; menstrual products; and diapers and wipes are also in high demand.
If you are unable to donate food in person, but would still like to support the food drive, we are also accepting monetary donations. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will have a significant impact on our community. All proceeds directly support the Germantown Community Cupboard and the communities they serve.
