Germantown, NY- Through the end of December, we are partnering with Clermont State Historic Site and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to host a food drive this holiday season. The food drive is an extension of their Harvesting History program, which serves the local community during the spring, summer, and early fall seasons.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off in the designated collection bin located in the Visitor Center, 1 Clermont Ave, Germantown, NY 12526, during normal business hours (Thursday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The food drive is running from Saturday, November 1 through Wednesday, December 31. Needed items include shelf-stable milk and dairy, cooking oils, canned meat (chicken and fish), canned vegetables and fruit, peanut butter and jelly, dry cereals, hearty canned soups and chilis, baby food, boxed pasta, rice, and stuffing mix.
Those who are unable to donate food items, but would like to help, can make a monetary donation online. All proceeds go directly to supporting the Germantown Food Pantry. To learn more, visit friendsofclermont.org.
The Friends of Clermont is a not-for-profit organization created to support the work of New York State in conserving the living legacy of Clermont State Historic Site. They engage their varied users to explore the multifaceted assets of the site by broadening use, access, and enjoyment.
