Help us reach our 2025 goal

November 2025

Greetings,

As another remarkable year comes to a close, we are deeply grateful for the extraordinary community—both near and far—that has embraced and supported the mission of the Friends of Clermont. Each member, donor, volunteer, grantor, and partner contributes to preserving and celebrating the history, beauty, and enduring legacy of Clermont State Historic Site.

Thanks to your generosity and enthusiasm, 2025 has been a year of growth, connection, preservation, and inspiration. Together, we:

Completed restoration of the north and south ends of the historic walled garden

  • Strengthened community partnerships through engaging programs and events that connected people of all ages and backgrounds with Clermont’s rich history.

  • Expanded our online gift shop with many locally made products.

  • Raised Clermont’s visibility through print and digital outreach, leading to record attendance at our Harmonies on the Hudson concert series as well as sold-out events such as the Legends by Candlelight Ghost Tours.

  • Reimagined the Chancellor’s Dinner into an autumn open house series connecting people to the stories of historic private homes in our region.

  • Completed the restoration of both the north and south ends of the historic walled garden.

  • Continued our investment in the Harvesting History program, which reached nearly 1,000 children and seniors. We harvested and donated over 60 pounds of produce from our on-site teaching garden to local food pantries.

We’re excited to build on this momentum—but we can’t do it without you. During this season of giving, please consider supporting our annual appeal. Your contribution will help:

  • Preserve Clermont’s historic structures, gardens, and landscape for generations to come.

  • Increase site accessibility with new trail and wayfinding signage across the estate.

  • Expand and enhance community/public programs connecting even more people with the history that defines our region.

Friends of Clermont believes history belongs to everyone. We are committed to creating experiences that welcome and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds—ensuring that Clermont remains a place where everyone feels a sense of connection and belonging.

Every membership dollar and annual appeal contribution goes directly toward preservation and community/public programs—not administrative costs – making your support even more impactful. Your generosity has a tangible effect at Clermont, from restoring and preserving historic features to funding educational and cultural experiences for our community. Every gift makes a difference.

With gratitude,

Randy J. Tryon
