Clermont State Historic Site offers a selection of beautiful outdoor locations on the Livingston estate to rent for wedding receptions or other private events. Depending upon the location, we can accommodate between 50 and 300 guests. Rental fees range from $600 to $2,200 for wedding receptions, depending upon the location and time of day. Fees are not based on the size of the guest list or the number of hours the site will be in use.
Since 1996 Clermont has welcomed couples to experience their special day on the grounds of this beautiful National Historic Landmark property. Couples may choose Clermont for their ceremony site, reception site, or both. Wooded hideaways, century-old gardens and exquisite views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains make you and your guests feel like Hudson Valley royalty. The museum staff look forward to working with you to make your wedding day a memorable one.
We encourage couples who are considering an outdoor venue to visit Clermont. Please call Denise Duval at (518) 537-4240 to schedule an appointment or request our wedding packet. The packet includes detailed information about each of our rental locations, fee information, copies of required permits, a map of the property, lists of service providers and answers to frequently asked questions.
Since the eighteenth century this historic Hudson River estate – home to seven generations of the prominent Livingston family – has hosted scores of engagement parties, weddings, and wedding receptions.
The last Livingston family wedding reception took place at Clermont on September 12, 1931. Honoria Livingston and her husband, Rex McVitty, were toasted on the lush grounds of the estate by the cream of New York Society. Clermont’s colonial heritage served as the theme of the reception. Among the bridal party, serving as a flower girl, was a granddaughter of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Clermont does not use an in-house caterer, nor do we require use of a sole-source caterer. We do provide a list of caterers who have successfully produced events at Clermont during the past 5 years, but welcome the opportunity to work with any caterer of your choosing.
